Northern Beaches tree removal services

Sometimes a tree needs to be removed from a property – perhaps it’s damaged, sick or isn’t conducive to the desired garden and landscape design of the property.  Our team of qualified arborists and tree removal specialists always ensure that the best care is taken to result in a pleasing aesthetic appearance along with a safe environment at your site.  Attention to detail, rigorous safety procedures and fastidious tidy up at completion of the job ensures the utmost in customers and community satisfaction every time.

Common reasons  trees are removed include :

  • a tree may be dead or in decline
  • a tree may have structural damage that could put the tree at risk of becoming a hazard which is dangerous and could cause harm to persons or property
  • a tree may be growing in an inappropriate environment and causing damage to property
  • a tree may be structurally unstable

Another important consideration why trees are often removed is the species of tree. An undesirable species of tree can be detrimental to our native flora and fauna. If a tree is in the way of new construction it is necessary to apply for a development application with local council to determine whether the tree can be removed.

Post storm tree and branch removal

Although we cannot predict the weather, we can be proactive in checking our trees and minimising hazards.  For this reason it is recommended to instruct our certified arborists to take a look at the trees on your property periodically. See below for more information about our tree trimming and pruning  services that will reduce the potential of damage caused by surrounding trees in the event of a storm.

Tree removal guidelines and regulations

Another important consideration why trees are often removed is the species of tree. An undesirable species of tree can be detrimental to our native flora and fauna. If a tree is in the way of new construction it is necessary to apply for a development application with local council to determine whether the tree can be removed. Kuring-gai or Northern Beaches Council will notify you if you require a tree report from a consulting level 5 Arborist to go with a tree removal application.

He will be happy to come and have a look to help you work out the best course of action. We provide tree removal services for unsuitable and hazardous trees according to council consent. It is important to check with your council for regulations on protected species of trees and the list of exempt species which can be removed.

If you require assistance in determining whether a tree should be retained or removed, call our Arborist Adam Bridger on 0410 736 105 for tree removal advice.

Emergency tree trimming services

Pruning dead, decaying or diseased branches will improve the health of your trees by letting in more sunlight and allowing air circulation throughout the tree canopy and landscape beneath. This will not only improve the appearance of your trees and outlook, it will also reduce hazardous branches which may fall from the tree canopy above. Regular inspection of the trees on your property minimises the risk of storm damage due to strong winds in bad weather.

The benefits of tree trimming

  • Do you have branches that are touching or getting close to your house or property and could do with being trimmed?
  • Do you want to let more light into your home or garden?
  • Do you want to improve and tidy up the aesthetics for your garden?

Tree pruning regulations

Trees may be pruned by up to 10% once in every 12 calendar months by certified arborists with AQF Level 3 in Arboriculture according to the Australian standard for pruning of amenity trees (AS 4373—2007). Council consent must be sought for other work such as the removal of dead or defective branches, selective tree pruning, and branches causing conflict.

Crown raising – what is it?

Crown raising is a pruning technique which involves the removal of the lower branches to increase the distance between the branches and the ground.

This may be done with council consent for pedestrian or vehicular access, views, sun exposure and weight reduction of limbs.
